Forza Horizon has always been about that perfect mix of high-speed racing and the thrill of discovery, and the barn finds in Forza Horizon 6 are no exception. If you are a fan of classic Japanese sports cars, there is one particular barn find that you will want to hunt down as soon as possible: the legendary 1969 Toyota 2000GT.
This absolute icon of automotive history is tucked away in the Ito region, but the game won't let you just drive up and grab it right from the start. Here is a straightforward guide on how to trigger the rumor, where to find the exact barn, and how to get the car polished up and ready for the road.
First: How to Trigger the Rumor
In previous Horizon games, you could sometimes stumble across barns by accident. This time around, the mechanics are a bit stricter. You cannot simply drive to the location immediately; you have to actually trigger the specific Barn Find rumor through your campaign progression first.
To get the rumor to pop up on your map, you need to meet a couple of specific requirements:
  • Level Up Your Exploration: You need to reach Level 2 (Tourist status) in the campaign's "Discover Japan" progression tracking.
  • Earn Campaign Stamps: You will need to earn enough exploration points to unlock the required campaign stamp. Depending on how you have been tackling your track sequence, this is usually a Yellow or Green stamp.

Don't worry too much about grinding for these milestones. You will accumulate the necessary points easily just by playing the game—completing the yellow map story missions, knocking out regional races, buying player houses, or simply driving around to uncover new roads. Once you hit the milestone, the familiar circular rumor zone will appear on your map.
The Exact Barn Location
When the rumor goes live, you will want to set your GPS toward the far northeast corner of the Ito region.
Here is exactly how to navigate the final stretch to the barn:
  • Drive along the main road that leads toward the east coast.
  • Look for a dirt path exiting on the right side of the road that heads down toward the beachfront. Turn down that path.
  • Keep your eyes peeled before you actually hit the water. Midway down the path, you need to make a sharp left turn onto a hidden, narrow trail nestled tightly between the trees.
  • Follow this tucked-away track, and it will lead you straight to the secluded barn located near the Minka House area.

As you pull up, the classic cutscene will trigger, confirming you've found the prize, and the dusty Toyota will be sent off to your garage.
Restoring Your New Ride
Like all barn finds, the 2000GT isn't road-ready right away. It needs some serious love and restoration from your garage crew before you can take it for a spin.
  • The Wait Time: Expect it to take roughly two to six hours of real-life playtime for the restoration to finish naturally.
  • The Fast Track: If you are incredibly impatient and have money to burn, you can spend in-game credits to finish the repairs instantly.

Honestly, the best move is just to leave it with the mechanic, go complete a few races or explore some more of the map, and let it unlock naturally for free. Once the notification pops up that it's ready, you will have one of the most beautiful, rare Japanese classics in history sitting in your garage, ready for a fresh tune and a cruise through the countryside. Happy hunting!
