I didn't expect I'd ever plan a whole run around mushrooms, but Headwinds flipped the economy on its head. One week they're junk you jog past, the next you're staring at your workshop queue and realising fungi are the choke point for half your projects. If you've been tracking ARC Raiders Items lately, you've probably noticed the same thing: everyone's suddenly hoarding biological mats like it's ammo. Stacks of 50 disappear fast once you start chasing passive generation, and the community goals push people even harder.
After 1.13.0 cleaned up those awkward spawn dead zones, I stopped guessing and started timing routes. About fifty farming sessions later, the pattern was obvious. Spaceport looks good on paper, especially during Shrouded Sky, but it's a trap. The fog slows you down because you can't read the ground, and the Surveyor patrols stack up in the worst places. You spend more time clearing angles than picking nodes. My average there was around 30 units, and it never felt steady—one bad patrol chain and the run turns into a scramble.
Dam Battlegrounds is where the numbers get silly, and the Hydroponic Dome Complex is the reason. Drop in on the Dome marker in the central-north, get inside, and sweep the grow beds first. The clusters are tight and predictable, so you're not wandering. Since the Leaper animation issues got patched, the few fights in there are quick if you keep moving and don't let them box you into corners. Once the interior's done, don't hit extract right away. Rotate east to the riverbank. Check the fallen logs and the muddy edges—people miss those nodes constantly because they're staring at the buildings. Then finish the loop to the South Gate exfil. In under 15 minutes, 40 to 60 mushrooms is normal, and the route's repeatable even solo.
Run light. You're farming, not proving a point. A light frame for stamina regen matters more than extra plating, because the real defence is being gone before trouble shows up. Bring a suppressed SMG or something similarly quiet for the Dome's tight lanes, and skip long-range weapons that invite third parties. Use a medium backpack, fill it, and leave. Greed is what ruins most farm runs—one more room, one more log, one more detour—and then you're limping to exfil with a full bag and no stamina.
This loop won't be exciting, but it'll keep your stash climbing while the event pressure is high. If you want to gamble, sure, Bird City can pop off during storms, but the PvP tax is brutal when you're carrying your whole haul. I'd rather take the calm money: Dome, river, South Gate, reset, repeat, and spend the saved time upgrading instead of re-kitting, especially if you're trying to stretch your runs with cheap ARC Raiders gear when the market's swinging.
