If you've been in Appalachia long enough, you know the moment your armor pops and your stash is nothing but cloth and regret. The latest update just makes that worse, because new content always means more repairs, more ammo, and more stuff you didn't plan to burn through. I stopped doing the "wander and hope" routine ages ago and started treating farming like a quick circuit, not a job. If you're missing one annoying component and don't feel like spending your whole night hunting it, it helps to keep an eye on the fallout 76 market while you run your routes so you can plug the gaps and get back to actually playing.
West Tek Without Wasting TimeWest Tek is still the easiest "turn brain off, get paid" loop, but only if you're doing it right. Clear the outside fast, then push straight through the interior instead of creeping room to room. The point isn't the firefight, it's the pile of guns. Scrap everything. And yeah, double-check you've got Scrapper on before you touch a workbench, because forgetting it feels like throwing steel in the river. When you're done, don't overthink it: hop servers and repeat if you want more XP, more caps, and a stash that finally looks healthy.
Whitespring Screws And Event TimingAfter West Tek, I swing to Whitespring when I'm short on the fiddly parts that always vanish first. Do a tight lap: golf club, cottages, and any rooms that look like they'd hide office junk. Desk fans, typewriters, phones, toy cars, all that boring-looking trash is where the screws and springs live. You'll fill a bag faster than you'd expect. Also, keep your ears open for public events in the area. If Uranium Fever pops, go. Tag the mole miners, loot everything, then waddle to the vendor bots and dump the heavy stuff for your daily caps.
Lead And Acid The Easy WayIf you craft ammo a lot, Lucky Hole Mine is non-negotiable, but only with Excavator Power Armor. Without that bonus you're basically sightseeing. With it, you'll strip the place clean and walk out loaded with lead ore. The catch is smelting, because ore is useless until you've got acid. I usually chain it with a quick stop at Toxic Larry's Meat 'n Go for snallygasters. It's not glamorous, but it's efficient, and you'll feel it the next time you queue up a big batch of 5.56.
Legendary Runs And When To SupplementWhen I want legendaries and a bit of chaos, I head to the Cranberry Bog and let the big events do the work. Scorched Earth, Line in the Sand, anything that spawns a crowd. Don't try to be the hero unless you've got the build for it; tag, survive, loot, repeat. You'll save ammo and still get your share. And if RNG's being cruel or you're short on a specific piece for your build, I'm not above topping up through u4gm since it's a quick way to grab game currency or items and keep the grind from turning into a second job.
